विवेक रंजन अग्निहोत्री मध्यप्रदेश के ग्वालियर में जन्मे, ख्यात फिल्मकार श्री विवेक रंजन अग्निहोत्री का नाम, बॉलीवुड के उन फिल्मकारों में शुमार है, जिन्होंने सार्थक फिल्मों का निर्माण किया। इन्होंने अपने करियर की शुरुआत एक एड एजेंसी से की थी और फिर इन्होंने टीवी शोज का निर्माण और निर्देशन किया। ये कहाँ आ गए हम, रिश्ते, सैटरडे सस्पेंस, एक्स ज़ोन, संभव, अनुबंध आदि के लिए इन्होंने काम किया। इनका फिल्मी करियर 2005 में "चॉकलेट : डीप डार्क सीक्रेट्स" से शुरू हुआ। ज्वलंत मुद्दों को लेकर निष्पक्ष नज़रिया इनकी फिल्मों में साफ नज़र आता है। जिन विषयों से सब बचना चाहते हैं, यह उसी यथार्थ को, तथ्यों के साथ, फिल्मों के माध्यम से बेनकाब करते हैं। इनकी हालिया फिल्म बंगाल फाइल्स, 1940 के दशक में, आजादी के पूर्व बंगाल की भूमि पर हुई सांप्रदायिक हिंसा और नरसंहार की सच्ची घटनाओं पर आधारित है। विवेक अग्निहोत्री को उनके काम के लिए कई पुरस्कार मिल चुके हैं। इनकी ब्लॉक बस्टर फिल्म द कश्मीर फाइल्स को कई कैटेगरीज के राष्ट्रीय व अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंचों पर पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुए, वहीं इनकी ताशकंद फाइल्स को सर्वश्रेष्ठ पटकथा लेखन का पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ। फिल्म जगत में इनके योगदान के लिए इन्हें मध्यप्रदेश सरकार द्वारा राष्ट्रीय किशोर कुमार पुरस्कार से नवाज़ा गया है। यथार्थवादी सिनेमा के रचयिता श्री विवेक रंजन अग्निहोत्री का इंदौर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल में स्वागत है।
