Sonroopa Vishal

Dr. Sonrupa Vishal — daughter of the eminent poet Dr. Urmilesh and Manjul Shankhdhar, and wife of Vishal Rastogi — is a distinguished voice in contemporary Hindi literature, known for her rare blend of sensitivity, creativity, and compassion. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Hindi from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, and pursued advanced studies in Music from Dayalbagh University, Agra, and Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. A gifted writer, she has authored several acclaimed works, including America aur Paintalis Din (travel memoir), Likhna Zaroori Hai (ghazal collection), Pichhle Baras Ka Gulmohar (song collection), Kokila Kul, and the forthcoming Sapnon Se Jab Nikle Hum. She has also edited Hindi Ghazal aur Dr. Urmilesh, showcasing her deep engagement with poetic tradition and literary heritage. Her writings have appeared in reputed publications such as Aha Zindagi, Kadambini, Gaganchal, and Dainik Jagran, earning her recognition across India and abroad. For years, she has represented Hindi literature at numerous national and international poetry festivals, carrying forward its spirit with dignity and grace. Through her initiatives — Aachman Foundation, Aachman Prakashan, and Shabdita — Dr. Vishal has actively bridged literature, education, and social welfare, empowering emerging writers and supporting the education of underprivileged girls. Honored with several national and international awards, including the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Yuva Ghazalkar Samman, Jagdish Gupta Sarjana Samman, Geet–Ghazal Shiromani Samman (Washington), U.S. Congressional Recognition, London High Commission Honour, and Kala Shri (Mauritius), she stands today as a melodious and compassionate voice of Hindi literature — where the tenderness of music and the depth of humanity meet in perfect harmony.

डॉ॰ सोनरूपा विशाल सुप्रसिद्ध कवि डॉ॰ उर्मिलेश और मंजुल शंखधार की पुत्री तथा विशाल रस्तोगी की पत्नी हैं। उनके व्यक्तित्व में संवेदना, सृजनशीलता और करुणा का अद्भुत संगम है। उन्होंने हिन्दी में एम.ए. एवं पी-एच.डी. (रूहेलखंड विश्वविद्यालय, बरेली) तथा संगीत में उच्च शिक्षा (दयालबाग विश्वविद्यालय, आगरा और प्रयाग संगीत समिति, इलाहाबाद) प्राप्त की है। उनकी प्रमुख कृतियाँ हैं – “अमेरिका और पैंतालीस दिन” (यात्रा संस्मरण), “लिखना ज़रूरी है” (ग़ज़ल संग्रह), “पिछले बरस का गुलमोहर” (गीत संग्रह), “कोकिला कुल”, तथा “सपनों से जब निकले हम” (प्रकाशनाधीन)। वे “हिन्दी ग़ज़ल और डॉ॰ उर्मिलेश” की संपादक भी हैं। उनकी रचनाएँ देश की प्रतिष्ठित पत्र-पत्रिकाओं — अहा ज़िन्दगी, कादम्बिनी, गगनांचल, दैनिक जागरण आदि में प्रकाशित हुई हैं। वे वर्षों से देश-विदेश के कवि सम्मेलनों में हिन्दी की गौरवपूर्ण उपस्थिति रही हैं। उन्होंने “आचमन फाउंडेशन”, “आचमन प्रकाशन” और “शब्दिता” जैसी संस्थाओं के माध्यम से साहित्य, समाज और संस्कृति को एक सूत्र में बाँधा है — जहाँ वे नवोदित रचनाकारों को मंच देती हैं, निर्धन बालिकाओं को शिक्षा, और समाज को मानवीय संवेदना का स्पर्श। उनके कार्यों के लिए उन्हें ‘हरिवंश राय बच्चन युवा ग़ज़लकार सम्मान’, ‘जगदीश गुप्त सर्जना सम्मान’, ‘गीत–ग़ज़ल शिरोमणि सम्मान’ (वॉशिंगटन), अमेरिकी संसद प्रशस्ति–पत्र, लंदन उच्चायोग सम्मान, ‘कला–श्री’ (मॉरीशस) सहित अनेक राष्ट्रीय-अंतरराष्ट्रीय अलंकरण प्राप्त हुए हैं। डॉ॰ सोनरूपा विशाल हिन्दी साहित्य की उस संवेदनशील स्वर हैं, जिनकी वाणी में संगीत की मृदुलता और मनुष्य के प्रति गहरी करुणा एक साथ प्रवाहित होती है।
