Vijay Manohar Tiwari - Vijay Manohar Tiwari is a distinguished and sensitive voice in contemporary Indian journalism whose work reflects both intellectual depth and heartfelt engagement with the realities of Indian life. A gold medalist from the second batch of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, he holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics with First Division but found his true calling in the world of words. In 2025, he was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the same university, marking a full-circle journey in his illustrious career. With over twenty-five years of experience in print and television journalism, Tiwari has travelled extensively across India—undertaking eight nationwide journeys between 2010 and 2015—to document the vibrant diversity and complexities of Indian society. An accomplished author of twelve books, his works such as Syah Raton Ke Chamkile Khwab, Aadhi Raat Ka Sach, Harsud 30 June, Bharat Ki Khoj Mein Mere Paanch Saal, and Jagta Hua Kasba have earned critical and popular acclaim for their depth and authenticity. His two-volume research series, The Expansion of Islam in India, stands as a significant scholarly contribution. Recipient of numerous prestigious honors, including the National Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award, Bhartendu Harishchandra Award, Madhavrao Sapre Samman, Madhya Pradesh Gaurav Samman, and the Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi Award (twice), Tiwari has also served as Trustee of Bharat Bhavan, Member of the Madhya Pradesh Wildlife Board, and State Information Commissioner (2018–2023). विजय मनोहर तिवारी समकालीन भारतीय पत्रकारिता के एक विशिष्ट और संवेदनशील हस्ताक्षर हैं। गणित में स्नातकोत्तर (प्रथम श्रेणी) होने पर भी उनका मन लेखनी के आलोक में रम गया और वे पत्रकारिता की कर्मभूमि पर अवतरित हुए। माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी राष्ट्रीय पत्रकारिता एवं संचार विश्वविद्यालय के द्वितीय बैच के वे स्वर्णपदक विजेता रहे तथा 2025 में उसी विश्वविद्यालय के कुलगुरु पद पर प्रतिष्ठित हुए। पच्चीस वर्षों तक उन्होंने प्रिंट और टेलीविज़न पत्रकारिता के विविध आयामों में सक्रिय रहकर भारतीय समाज के यथार्थ को अपने लेखन का विषय बनाया। 2010 से 2015 तक आठ बार भारत की परिक्रमा कर उन्होंने जनजीवन के असंख्य रूपों को सजीव शब्दों में अंकित किया। उनकी अब तक बारह कृतियाँ प्रकाशित हैं जिनमें “स्याह रातों के चमकीले ख़्वाब” (मीडिया पर केन्द्रित उपन्यास), “आधी रात का सच” (भोपाल गैस त्रासदी), “हरसूद 30 जून” (डूबे नगर की करुण कथा), “भारत की खोज में मेरे पाँच साल” (यात्रा वृत्तांत) तथा “जागता हुआ क़स्बा” (ऐतिहासिक हेरिटेज वॉक का आख्यान) विशेष रूप से चर्चित हैं। साथ ही “भारत में इस्लाम का विस्तार” विषय पर उनकी दो खंडों की शोधपरक श्रृंखला उल्लेखनीय है। उनके लेखन को राष्ट्रीय गणेश शंकर विद्यार्थी पुरस्कार, भारतेन्दु हरिश्चंद्र पुरस्कार, माधवराव सप्रे सम्मान, मध्यप्रदेश गौरव सम्मान तथा दो बार मध्यप्रदेश साहित्य अकादमी सम्मान प्राप्त हुआ। वे भारत भवन के न्यासी एवं मध्यप्रदेश वन्यजीव बोर्ड के सदस्य रहे तथा 2018 से 2023 तक राज्य सूचना आयुक्त के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित दायित्व निभाया। विजय मनोहर तिवारी का लेखन भारतीय माटी की गंध, लोक की करुणा और सत्य की निर्भीक साधना से अनुप्राणित है जहाँ शब्द केवल वर्ण नहीं, राष्ट्रचेतना के स्पंदन बनकर प्रकट होते हैं।
