Ashutosh Agnihotri

Ashutosh Agnihotri is a distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1999 batch from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Born on 11 March 1974 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he holds a strong academic background with a Master’s degree in English Literature and an MSc in Public Management and Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Over the years, he has served in various key administrative roles, including positions in the Government of Assam and the Ministry of Home Affairs. His leadership journey includes serving as Commissioner and Secretary in multiple departments and later as Chairman and Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India (FCI). In 2025, he took charge as the Chairman of the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), continuing his commitment to efficient governance and public service. Beyond his administrative achievements, Ashutosh Agnihotri is also a poet and author, reflecting his deep sensitivity and creative spirit. His book Kuch Adhure Shabd showcases his introspective side and offers a glimpse into his understanding of human emotions and experiences. Balancing intellect, empathy and discipline, he stands as an example of how bureaucratic efficiency and artistic depth can harmoniously coexist.

आशुतोष अग्निहोत्री एक सृजनशील एवं बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व के धनी हैं, जिनकी लेखनी में सौंदर्य, संवेदना और गहराई का अद्भुत संगम दिखाई देता है। 1999 बैच के भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (IAS) अधिकारी के रूप में उन्होंने अखिल भारतीय रैंक 26 प्राप्त की। वर्तमान में वे भारतीय खाद्य निगम (FCI) के अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबंध निदेशक (CMD) के रूप में अतिरिक्त सचिव के पदमान पर कार्यरत हैं। इससे पूर्व वे गृह मंत्रालय में अतिरिक्त सचिव तथा संयुक्त सचिव के रूप में कार्य कर चुके हैं। असम शासन में भी उन्होंने आयुक्त एवं सचिव के रूप में गृह, उद्योग, वाणिज्य, परिवहन तथा खेल एवं युवा कल्याण जैसे विभागों का सफल संचालन किया। असम के अनेक जिलों में जिलाधिकारी रहते हुए उन्होंने प्रशासन को जनसेवा का माध्यम बनाया। 11 मार्च 1974 को कानपुर नगर में जन्मे आशुतोष अग्निहोत्री ने भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा में प्रवेश से पूर्व अंग्रेज़ी साहित्य में स्नातकोत्तर (एम.ए.) किया तथा लंदन स्कूल ऑफ इकोनॉमिक्स से पब्लिक मैनेजमेंट एंड गवर्नेंस में स्नातकोत्तर उपाधि प्राप्त की। उनकी रचनाएँ — ओस की थपकी, स्पंदन, कुच्छ अधूरे शब्द, कलर्स ऑफ माई वॉल: नॉट विद द सेम ब्रश, लव, लाइफ एंड लॉन्गिंग, पीस ऑफ माइंड तथा लुकिंग एट द स्काईज़ AND Biyond — उनकी संवेदनशील आत्मा की झंकार हैं। वे बाह्य जगत की हलचलों के प्रति सजग हैं और अंतर्मन की निस्तब्धता के भी ज्ञाता। संक्षेप में कहा जा सकता है कि आशुतोष अग्निहोत्री में कर्म और कलम दोनों के प्रति गहरी श्रद्धा है। प्रशासक की दृढ़ता और कवि की कोमलता, दोनों एक ही व्यक्तित्व में समरस होकर मानो लोकसेवा को साहित्य का रूप दे देती हैं।
