Thomas Mathew

Dr. Thomas Mathew is a retired IAS officer, author, corporate strategist, and defense analyst with a distinguished career in public service and contributions to India's policies. He holds a doctorate in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Bachelor of Law degree from Delhi University. His work in the Ministries of Finance, Defence, and Industry has led to significant reforms, including authoring India’s defence offset policy and implementing the Qualified Foreign Investors schemein the Indian Capital Market in 2012, an announcement that received extensive mediacoverage. As an author, Dr. Mathew has published several works, including ‘Ratan Tata: A Life’, In Search of Congruence: India-US Relations under the Obama Administration, The Winged Wonders of Rashtrapati Bhavan, and Abode Under the Dome, with the latter two gifted by President Pranab Mukherjee to world leaders like Barack Obama and XiJinping. A passionate photographer, he has captured over 500 bird species and his work has appeared in Lalit Kala Academy publications and as official New Year greetings by the President of India. When not shaping corporate strategies or analyzing international affairs, Dr. Mathew can be found in wildlife sanctuaries, seeking the perfect frame with his favorite 600mm lens.

डॉ. थॉमस मैथ्यू सेवानिवृत्त आईएएस अधिकारी, लेखक, कॉरपोरेट रणनीतिकार और रक्षा विश्लेषक हैं। उन्होंने जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय से अंतरराष्ट्रीय संबंधों में डॉक्टरेट और दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से विधि की डिग्री प्राप्त की। वित्त, रक्षा और उद्योग मंत्रालयों में उनके कार्यों में भारत की रक्षा ऑफसेट नीति तथा 2012 में भारतीय पूँजी बाजार में Qualified Foreign Investors योजना का क्रियान्वयन शामिल है।

उनकी पुस्तकों में ‘Ratan Tata: A Life’, ‘In Search of Congruence: India-US Relations under the Obama Administration’, ‘The Winged Wonders of Rashtrapati Bhavan’ और ‘Abode Under the Dome’ शामिल हैं। अंतिम दो पुस्तकें राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी ने बराक ओबामा और शी जिनपिंग जैसे विश्व नेताओं को भेंट की थीं।

फोटोग्राफी में गहरी रुचि रखने वाले डॉ. मैथ्यू ने 500 से अधिक पक्षी प्रजातियों की तस्वीरें ली हैं। उनका काम ललित कला अकादमी के प्रकाशनों और राष्ट्रपति की आधिकारिक नववर्ष शुभकामनाओं में भी प्रयुक्त हुआ। रणनीति और अंतरराष्ट्रीय मामलों से समय मिलने पर वे वन्यजीव अभयारण्यों में अपने 600 मिमी लेंस के साथ तस्वीरें लेते हैं।
