Megha Parmar, a trailblazer from the small village of Bhoj Nagar in Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, made history on May 22, 2019, by becoming the first woman from Madhya Pradesh to conquer Mount Everest. Born to a farmer, Megha’s passion for mountaineering was sparked by a simple yet powerful desire to break barriers and challenge herself. Despite facing societal pressures and financial challenges, Megha’s unwavering determination led her to overcome all odds. After a failed attempt in 2018, Megha turned adversity into motivation, pushing herself to train harder and with even more resolve. With the support of her family and sponsors, she achieved her dream of summiting the world’s highest peak. However, her journey didn’t end at the summit. Megha’s incredible strength and resilience saw her through a perilous descent, where she battled snow blindness and extreme conditions, showcasing her unbreakable spirit. Now, Megha is on a mission to inspire and empower young girls from lower-middle-class families to dream big. She trains them in mountaineering and provides them with opportunities to scale global peaks. Megha’s goal is to climb the highest mountains across all seven continents and continue empowering others with her story of strength, courage, and determination.
