Chandan Rai

Chandan Rai is a poet, writer and lyricist, also known by the sobriquet Geeton Ki Rajkumari. His songs and poems focus particularly on love and pain. He began writing at the age of ten, inspired by his grandmother, the late Krishna Kunwar Rai, a Bhojpuri poet and advocate.

He has performed at poetry gatherings across India and appeared on radio, television and news-channel programmes, including the All India Poetic Festival Jan Kavya. His voice and emotionally expressive writing are central to his stage presence.

The 2024 brochure records his participation in the Red Fort poetry gatherings in 2016 and 2020. His work continues the connection between poetry, song and live audiences.

चंदन राय कवि, लेखक और गीतकार हैं, जिन्हें गीतों की राजकुमारी के उपनाम से भी जाना जाता है। वे मुख्यतः प्रेम और पीड़ा पर गीत तथा कविताएँ लिखते हैं। अपनी रचनाओं से श्रोताओं की भावनाओं को छूने वाले चंदन ने दस वर्ष की आयु में लिखना शुरू किया। लिखने और गाने की प्रेरणा उन्हें अपनी नानी स्वर्गीय श्रीमती कृष्णाकुँवर राय से मिली, जो भोजपुरी की प्रसिद्ध कवि और एडवोकेट थीं।

उन्होंने भारतभर के हज़ारों कवि सम्मेलनों में भाग लिया और अपनी आवाज़ से दर्शकों को प्रभावित किया। आकाशवाणी और दूरदर्शन के कार्यक्रमों के साथ न्यूज़ चैनलों तथा ऑल इंडिया पोएटिक फ़ेस्टिवल जन काव्य कार्यक्रम में भी उनकी भागीदारी रही है।

2016 और 2020 में उन्होंने भारत के प्रसिद्ध लाल किला कवि सम्मेलनों में भाग लिया। उनके गीत श्रोताओं के बीच लोकप्रिय हैं और वे भारतीय संगीत तथा कविता की प्रमुख हस्तियों में पहचाने जाते हैं।
